WHAT HAPPENS AT A DUI TRIAL IN GEORGIA?

In Georgia, a trial might be required to determine if a defendant is guilty. At this time, the prosecutor will provide evidence and call witnesses to prove the defendant’s guilt, while the defense lawyer will present evidence and call witnesses to defend the defendant. If found guilty, the defendant will have to come back to court for sentencing where the Judge will consider the severity of the crime, the defendant’s criminal history, and any aggravating or mitigating factors when deciding the punishment.
