WHAT COULD MAKE A COP THINK I AM DRUNK AT A DUI CHECKPOINT?

There are several factors that could lead a police officer to suspect that someone is drunk at a DUI checkpoint. These include the smell of alcohol on the person’s breath, slurred speech, bloodshot or watery eyes, difficulty maintaining balance or coordination, and the presence of open alcohol containers in the vehicle. Additionally, erratic driving behavior, such as swerving or speeding, could also raise suspicion.
